A night to remember?!

OMG for sure! Global legislation started at 21.10 last night and finished at 06.30 this morning! and in the process we made history :) by the time we left plenary we had reached, nay surpassed the magic number of 100 countries! We had legislated IS principles and a code of ethics, reviewed membership (touchy one for me ;)) and granted FULL membership rights to Tanzania and Pakistan!!!

IC in India was my introduction to the true power of what our organisation can do...I met Emad there in the times before our MCP days and listening to his AIESEC XP during the identity and vision sessions of that amazing conference I got a sense for what it was that we could achieve. It was truly an honour for me to be there last night as all of his hard work paid off and Pakistan became a full member...oddly enough what Nida is most looking forward to is paying membership fees ;) I can only wish her the absolute best of luck for the coming year!

And how excited was I for my dearest of dear MCPs?!! All the work, passion and dedication to this issue have paid off. She and her country have been granted an amazing opportunity to explore new and exciting possibilities on behalf of our organisation!

And so from plenary to the beach where with the most picturesque background EVER we were introduced to the AI VP team 07/08. Coco is as yet without a successor as no exchange management vp was selected but....drumroll please....

IPM is going well....strange to think that I have to say goodbye to people in 3 days time! I have all but made up my mind that this is the end of the road but now I'm ok with that, before I came here it was troubling me not Im more comfortable with letting go

Tonight is Global Legislation!! Followed by VP announcements :) :) :) and then we will have a complete leadership team for 07/08!!!

Sitting in plenary....PAI voting about to begin...the applications have been read, all the speeches are over and all the questions have been asked, although I suppose not all answered ;)

Deadly buzz!

Look where I am going tomorrow!!!! Well I'm not exactly going to the pyramids tomorrow....but well....in the general vicinity of ;) So excited to see people again, have time to reflect on what has happened thus far in my term, recharge for the coming 4 months and of course be present to see the new international leadership team elected!!

At this stage I should be well used to sustaining friendships across oceans and time zones! But somehow the thought of doing that with these girls seems different!

Could we go all the way this year?! Can Ireland win the 6 nations?! A grand slam perhaps?! What a way to go to the World Cup this autumn?? Ok so lets not get ahead of ourselves....but victorious we were today against Wales....19-9 read the final score, a more comfortable victory than perhaps they deserved! Next weekend sees rugar enter the hallowed grounds of Croke Park for the first time EVER! shocking I know...the largest home crowd Eddie O'Sullivan's boys will ever have played in front of...lets hope it doesn't scare them! haha let us hope that the echoing of Ireland's Call through the Hogan stand will scare the French ;)



And in other news....OMG!! The waiting list for tickets to see TopGear is TWO YEARS!! I think it would almost be easier to become famous then offer myself free of charge to be the celeb in the reasonably priced car! Hmm.... there is an idea.... Only problem is could I concentrate on becoming famous as well as learning how to drive?! oooh considering the fact that all you need to become famous in the UK is to be on reality tv...m aybe I could suggest that they have that driving school show again and I could combine both! Mint! I am sorted!

It was sunny in Dublin today...so en route to the office for IPM prep with Aisling I walked through St Stephen's Green....watched families feeding the ducks and people in general enjoying the slightly warmer temperatures! I was happily in a world of my own listening the happy cd tracks which I have finally succeeded in putting on my ipod! And only realised how happy I was when I discovered lots of people smiling at me...I guess it is true...if you put positive energy out it comes back to you! Ah the power of music to remind us of happy things, times and places and whats more to transport us back to that place!
