excitement!

I promise not to rant about F1 in this post! promise promise promise!!!

but I will talk about my other fave topic! TRANNY 06 :) :) you know what...this one hasn't even started properly (Dom and I have had sessions but TRANNY proper doesn't kick off 'til the 11th of June) but because Ms Frega is having so much fun planning this stuff I'm already looking forward to TRANNY 07 too :) bizarre!!!!

So it is just 2 sleeps before I head to capital and then one more little one (going dancing on Friday night, won't be getting much sleep) and then JOCHEN arrives!!! and better still it will be my birthday soon after that! and guess what I am getting?!!! another team mate :) :) :) how exciting is that?!!

I'm genuinely not sure if I can contain myself til Prue arrives on the 11th! and TRANNY begins bright and early at 10am Monday the 12th of June....I know 10am isn't exactly early...but I've been warned to keep my team out of the office 'til then which makes me think that Dominique and Co have something debaucherous up their sleeves...P.E.S.K.Y at least! maybe I can ply Michal with alcohol this weekend and get the gossips out of him?!! sounds like a plan!!

Cathal is well and settled in An Daingean :) ta na cupla focal gaelige ag teacht ar ais agus is docha go mbeadh se liofach roimh na nollag :) ni mor dom nios mo gaelige a scriobh anseo :)

grr to blogger.com not allowing me to put in accents!

Monaco GP

How could I leave this weekend pass without having a rant about the GP?!! Actually tbh I hadn't considered blogging it 'til I saw Dhruv sum it up in one line "Schumacher finished 5th in Monaco". But this weekend's racing was about soo much more than Schumacher finishing 5th and drifting further away from Alonso on the championship points table! SO much more!

To begin with there was the debacle in qualifying...In the dying minutes of the top ten shoot out Schumacher clinched provisional pole but as he was on his in lap, Alonso was setting a blistering pace on his final flying lap. In fact he was some several tenths of a second up on Schumacher...in short he was headed for pole. What happened next has shocked, appalled, disgusted (etc) F1 fans the world over and more importantly the race stewards who were in the position to do something about it!

....So has Herr Schumacher approached the final curve before the finish line he appeared to lose control of the car and mysteriously came to an abrupt stop, obscuring the racing line and undoubtedly holding up Senor Alonso who was tearing up the street circuit behind him. Schumacher claims that it was entirely unintentional, he never meant to harm Alonso's chances of pole...he simply lost control of the car. Lucky then that he did so at about the only part of the circuit where he wouldnt go crashing into the barrier! As I said the stewards decided it was a deliberate manoeuvre and punished him by sending him to the back of the grid!

Remarkable fact numero 1: Monaco GP 2006 - all Ferrari BACK row!!! incredible!

And so to the race itself! Note-worthy for a number of reasons! To be fair to the 7 times World champ, he put in a sterling effort starting from the pits to eventually end up 5th! A remarkable drive even from this cynic's point of view :p Drive of the day has got to go to Mark Webber! A sensational day's work for him was ruined by engine failure on lap 48 (methinks it was 48) still and all I'm sure many a head was turned on the pitwall by his ability to fight it out with the supposed young guns of F1 (Fernando and Kimi). Speaking of Kimi...well what is there to say really...another one bites the dust?! maybe a little harsh...but what do I care!

Fernando had a spectacular day at the office! One that took him 21 points clear at the top of the championship table! awooohooo! some cider drunk in Asturias this weekend I would imagine! The World Champion has yet to finish lower than 2nd this season! Bring on Silverstone is all I can say!!

Final noteworthy fact of the day....DC made a welcome return to the podium! He was gifted 3rd when first Ruebens was handed down a drive through penalty for speeding during his one and only pitstop and then Trulli was forced to retire!

Oh ya and the other Latino hottie (referring to driving skills obviously!) finished a respectable 2nd...Could JPM be about to show some regular form?! Or is it pretty standard form for him to show up and fight at Monaco the undisputed jewl in the F1 crown and then feck off back to mediocrity for a while?! Who knows?! Only Silverstone can tell!!

This one is for you Annika :)

Annika recently joined the wonderful world of nomadlife and is still at that stage in her blogging career when she thinks one should write daily! and that everybody else should write just as frequently :) but truth be told I don't really have anything to write about!

I have 8 sleeps left in Cobh although as Paddy rightly pointed out it is probably more like 7, with half a drunken night's sleep on the eve of my departure :) even better than that I have only 34 hours left in my current retail career!! How ggggrrrrrrreeeeeeeeat is that?!! Well I am excited anyway :)

Went to see The DaVinci Code on Sunday night with the muppets....and to be honest it wasn't as bad as I had expected! I suppose because it got such a hard time at Cannes I had expected it to absolutely terrible but it really wasn't. I mean I was bored but that is just because it was so faithful to the book that I read twice (in two languages...it wasn't that I was a HUGE fan or anything). Anywho I digress....I suppose if I hadn't read the book it would have been far more entertaining because I wouldn't have known the twists and wouldn't have known the answers to the riddles etc...En route to the cinema Lynn decided to tell me about an article she had read about the film that day, the main focus of the piece was Tom Hanks' hair and so for much of the film I was intently analysing the style of said Mr Hanks' hair :) well worth €8.50 if I was a student of hairstyling....but I'm not!

Nothing else supremely news-worthy....Monaco GP this weekend! Come on Fernando!! World Cup is starting soon but I will be too busy with Tranny to see any of it (hmmm although...I might sneak a few games in during WENA PM) Speaking of Tranny I will be spending tomorrow finishing off my sessions :) and yup I think that is about it!

Oh...actually no it isn't...shame...I have finally caved into peer pressure and actually put something on my bebo homepage! Indeed I have started posting on people's comment boards! I know, I know I have given in and started playing on the devil's playground :( all I can say is that I am sorry...but truth be told..it is actually kinda fun ;)

hugs to all...just coz I am in a terrific mood :)

It has been a while!

It has been over a week since I posted anything! tut tut for me then!

But such a lot has happened since then so I can write an uber doober great posting now!!!
First of all, Tranny '06 got off to a swinging start this week!!! :)
Last Wednesday I packed my little bag and headed off to the big schmoke for a few days! Objective....Start transition :) For many reasons that will become clear later, we here in AIESEC in Ireland refer to this period as TRANNY!!!!!

So Dominique and I had some wonderful sessions and of course a wee-bit-oh-fun too :) and now I am soo seriously excited about everybody getting here and starting properly! I am also very psyched about the spangly agenda that Ms Frega has prepared...it has clickable buttons :) haha! who elected me MCP...entertained by clickable buttons in an excel document!!!

Anywho, that brings me onto my next point! My ultra fantabulous team will be arriving from the 3rd of June onwards :) I cannot wait to see them all in Dublin :) :) :) and begin what I am sure will be a challenging but ultimately rewarding year!!!

While I was in Dublin I got some quality Paula time as we headed off to Take That on Saturday night.....I hear you pity, the mocking....but do I care?! not one teeny weeny little bit because I had an absolute blast! They still know how to put on a decent show!! :) Never Forget at the end was actually kind of a touching moment for anyone that was ever a fan!!!!

hmmmm...I know I had something else that was news-worthy...Oh yes....I finally gave into Lynn's bullying and comments like "well if you would just use Bebo" and I have actually put something on my homepage :) and accepted the invites from friends and yes I am now an official bebo user...Oh the shame!

hugs people!

To the people that make life worth while!!!

I had a crappy day yesterday for a multitude of reasons....but I woke up this morning ever appreciative of the fact that I have some great friends. People who love and respect me, value my thoughts and opinions and enjoy spending time in my company!! And sometimes a word from them, an email, a post on their blog, a hug (you all know who you are) it makes the difference between the worst day ever and well...a day that was worth getting through just to have that word/email/post/hug :)

In short...I love my friends!! xxxx
